Wide-track Independent Suspension with Sway Bar: Trikes with solid axles have four times as much unsprung weight as the Hannigan Trike. Our trike has similar unsprung weight to the original Goldwing. Too much unsprung weight results in a harsher ride. (Critical Law of Physics – For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). The solid axle drawback is the sideways motion transmitted to the motorcycle seat. When only one rear wheel of the trike hits a bump the sideways motion creates a negative effect on the lower back of the rider and passenger. Our independent suspension has almost no lateral forces on the motorcycle seat. This creates a much healthier, more comfortable ride for rider and passenger. Our 60-inch wide track and CRX sports car stabilizer has made the Hannigan Trike one of the safest and most stable trikes available. It out-corners other trikes. This allows you to run with your two-wheel companions on twisty roads. Hannigan Trikes have the best combination of sporty handling and a plush ride.

Our Progressive Suspension I.A.S. Gas Shocks make them user friendly. Inertia sensitive damping enables the wheel to react quickly to rough surfaces while still maintaining full damping control for taut precise handling.

The in-line drive shaft of the original motorcycle is used in its original position to ensure smooth running and unbeatable reliability.

Ford Thunderbird Differential: The differential has 2.73 gears.

Vented Disc Brakes: Vented Disc Brakes are standard on rear wheels for quicker cooling and longer life. Functioning ABS is maintained on GL1800 motorcycles equipped with the optional Honda Factory ABS system. The Generation II has Brembo brakes and vented stainless rotors.

Auxiliary Fuel Tank: The tank holds approximately 4 1/2 gallons. They have trike conversions with a separate filler neck for convenience. The rider-activated fuel pump transfers the fuel from the TIG-welded heavy gauge aluminum tank to the main tank. The trike frame holds the tank in order to extend the fuel range with maximum safety.

Tail Lights: The GL1500 has automotive taillights with four brake lights and running and signal lights to ensure excellent visibility and safety.  The GL1800 standard vented ground effects allows air to pass through for better passenger comfort.  The high-tech original equipment saddlebag lights are integrated in the trike body. Generation II has the integrated Honda tail light and LED fender lights.

Storage Trunk: The specious trunk is approx. 5 cu.ft. on the GL1500, 7 cu. ft. on the GL1800, and 9 cu. ft. on the Generation II. The spacious, carpeted trunk is a 7 cubic foot space on the Goldwing 1800 and 5 cubic foot space on the GL1500. The storage trunks easily hold two full-face helmets. It opens with the original saddlebag levers under the Honda top box. It retains the single key locking feature and remote.

1800 Foot Fairings: They are molded one-piece footings that provide load baring position and a clean appearance.
